Your Car for a Winter Emergency
You never
know want to be stranded in your car in extreme weather conditions. But in case
you are, here are a list of things you should pack in your vehicles trunk: blanket,
towel, extra set of clothing and shoes, gloves, toilet paper, water or Gatorade,
non-perishable food items; cellphone charger, flashlight and extra batteries, whistle,
pencil/pen and paper, umbrella and poncho, emergency money (at least $20.00); first
aid kit, duct tape, garbage bag, multi-tool or knife, ice scraper and a small snow shovel. By all means
be sure to have on hand the usual car supplies to have year round like a car jack, tire iron, inflated spare tire, fix-a-flat, jumper cables, flares or
a reflective triangle.

Now, it’s one thing to have these kinds of items
on hand if you are every stranded in your car in extreme weather, but you also
need to spiritually prepared as well. Here are a few scripture verse to pack
not just in your car, but in your heart and mind:
“Have I
not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“The Lord is a
refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who
know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek

“So
do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I
will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right
hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“And
my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ
